Pigeon Point Lighthouse dramatically sits on a peninsula south of Half Moon Bay. The wind and waves were incredible to watch from such a vantage point.
Where better to watch the sunset than at the Point Pinos lighthouse in Pacific Grove? But, first, ice cream.
We flew the drone at Shark Fin Cove, which had a spectacular sea cave/arch through which I *had* to try to fly the drone. I almost lost it due to the high winds through the cave!
We enjoyed a sunset drive along the incredible coast of Jenner, California, followed by dinner with a view at the River’s End restaurant. The drone allowed us to take some pictures of the coast that would be impossible from the shore.
The town of Elk has some of the most spectacular arches and rock formations of the Mendocino County Coast. A windy day made drone photography difficult, but we managed to take some good shots. On the way to Elk, we passed through the Navarro Redwood Forest and made the drone video of descending into the Redwoods.
Point Arena Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in California. Flying the drone was tricky because of the 20+ mph winds. I had to approach the lighthouse from below the cliff face.
An early morning hike to Kirby Cove greeted us with an incredible sunrise. Sophie enjoyed the swing at the beach, and we explored a hidden WWII bunker. San Francisco is insanely gorgeous. I can’t take credit for the drone video.
